What can I do with a masters in psychology besides counseling? - counseling psychology masters programs
Hello. Recently, I received my degree in psychology and I am not sure if I should pursue a master's program. I found it interesting to study psychology, but I'm not really sure he would enjoy as a profession. Also, everyone knows what to do with a master's degree in psychology, in addition to traditional counseling and education? Other things that interest me are literature and philosophy, but in reality all that he could be taught with, and I would not be limited to that.

It is good to know that you're serious about it, the different options - most of pursuing higher studies or psychology major took almost every position that is available .....
ReplyDeleteThere are several "non-traditional" positions, I recommend watching - all of these positions require either a master or doctorate in psychology and do not need any advice or instructions.
For this I think you might want to consider based on the use of industrial jobs available:
# 1: Organizational Psychology: This is what I do. I help assess the performance and the people with various issues such as the workplace - and not advised - this is training, which is a plan for change design. Work also includes research in the investigation - sometimes - but it is interesting positions in this area.
# 2: Human Factors Psychologist: He is a psychologist, who is also an engineer - and well paid. The work includes designing a space for human habitation and interaction, such as office spaced cabin. VERY hot on the ground no rights.
# 3: Forensic Psychologist: Yes, they have to go through the training in therapy, but they are working with offenders and helping them acquire the skills necessary to reintegrate into society. I know many people who receive this profession, and all are welcome.
# 4: Quantitative Psychologist: Also available as an experimental psychologist. And you have to love, a psychologist. I doubt they would carry out the dig - but if it were so, psychological experiments.
# 5: Psychologist: Study on the behavior and thinking of animals - usually working in a laboratory at the university. Cool stuff.
# 6: Psychology of Community: There are many programs in community psychology, but I doubt they (the psychology of the community, in practice - with the exception of the relationships in the Community's position in the government's work) of fun. Very interesting field, but!
And other areas - developmental psychology, sensation and perception, psychology, social psychology - but thesE are "academic training" for most people.

Check www.chronicle.com and go to the careers pages for scientific work - most require a master .... Tons, which has very interesting academic positions ....
They give the impression that if education is limited, it is not. I suggest you look into the library, in the Handbook of career opportunities every year. It describes many different professions, education, what you need, pay, etc. Consult psychology and see what is on the list, I think you'll be surprised. You can to research, teaching, legal, social work, etc., etc.
